Pratt Kansas, November 24, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mike Hill, Community Volunteer, Executive Director of the Pratt Area Humane Society and former EMT/Firefighter, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in community service.

Mike Hill is a community advocate for animal causes. For the past two years, he has served as volunteer Executive Director of the Pratt Area Humane Society. During this time, he, his staff community volunteers and the PCC Rotorast built a new shelter for pets in need in the Pratt area after the old shelter was deemed unfit and was to be closed down. After many volunteer hours, the new shelter -- a modern, clean and safe facility -- was available for the animals until they are returned to their owners or adopted somewhere in the United States. Mr. Hill also found homes for many puppy mill victims that were seized by the State of Kansas. He is the current Deputy Director of the Kingman Pratt Area Animal Response Team and a Kansas State Animal Response Team Member.

Mr. Hill has always volunteered in the communities in which he has lived as he feels that a community is only as strong as its volunteers. As he puts it, "You should pay back the community for the privilege of living there." Mr. Hill previously served as a volunteer firefighter/EMT for 22 years and retains a current EMT license in the State of Kansas.
