Now retired, Ms. Meyer spent eight years employed by American Airlines. She served as a secretary for the organization's attorney and the regional vice president in Chicago. In the past, she was also involved with insurance sales; for five years, Ms. Meyer worked as a secretary for Farm Bureau Claims.

Today, Ms. Meyer spends her time organizing family and church functions. A genealogist, she has published two books on the history of her family and intends to publish a third. Having received a Christian education, she is an avid member of her local Presbyterian church. She serves as a church elder and a chairperson for the Music and Worship Committee. Ms. Meyer lends her success to the support she garners from her family and church. She intends to remain active in her community.
