Dr. Sania Wilkins received a grant through the Community Access To Child Health to advance advocacy training at Schneider Children's Hospital

PORT WASHINGTON, NY, October 07, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Sania Wilkins of Port Pediatrics, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in pediatric healthcare.

Now celebrating her 12th year in pediatric medicine, Dr. Sania Wilkins specializes in treating patients from birth to age 22. The primary physician of Port Pediatrics, she oversees the practice with three employees, educates parents and mentors medical students. Dr. Wilkins is a renowned public speaker on topics ranging from compliance to pediatric medication and maintains a strong belief in child advocacy and community service. In fact, she recently received a grant through the Community Access To Child Health (CATCH) to advance advocacy training at Schneider Children's Hospital. She has lobbied with the Federal Advocacy Action Network on Capitol Hill for children's health insurance. She works closely with the Safe Kids Coalition of NY, and received a grant through Reach Out and Read to promote literacy at her practice.

Currently an adjunct professor at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Wilkins holds a doctor of osteopathy from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and a bachelor's degree in biology from Binghamton University. Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Association.
