TAMPA, FL, June 13, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fans of Chevrolet's mini car may not have to wait until the 2015 New York International Auto Show to catch a glimpse of the all-new 2016 Spark. A Korean website has leaked a photo of the vehicle displaying what appears to be a more upscale interior.
According to Green Car Reports, BobaeDream has released a photo of the next-generation Spark that has provided consumers around the globe with a sneak peek at the car's more refined cabin and a new instrument cluster and center console. Left Lane says that most Spark models will include an infotainment system with a touchscreen display and that navigation will be optional on the top trim levels.
The spy image has since been taken down, likely by one of the editors of the Korean website. However, based on news from Green Car Reports, the photo has been reposted on Indian Autos Blog.
Interior details aside, AutoGuide.com says the Spark will be based on the same platform as the Opel Karl, a city car sold in parts of Europe, and that based on photos previously leaked by BobaeDream and a Chevy supplier, the 2016 Spark will sport a Cruze-inspired fascia, L-shaped headlights and a slightly bolder-looking two-part radiator grille design.
As for under-the-hood specs, rumors in the automotive industry suggest that Chevy's new Spark will feature a 75-horsepower 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine, the same one found in the latest generation Open Karl, and an automatic transmission.
