DENVER, CO, September 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- BMGI, a management consultancy specializing in problem solving methods and tools, is hosting a one-day workshop in which healthcare providers will learn how they can drive rapid improvement, become more efficient and improve quality. "Doing More with Less in Healthcare", will reframe the healthcare improvement programs of the past 20 years into the clinical problem solving model. Led by a prominent physician, this event takes place on Sept. 13, at the Boston Marriott Burlington, at a cost of $399 per participant.

"Healthcare organizations face significant challenges today, as they seek ways to improve patient care and financial performance," said Dr. Edward Boudreau, a senior client partner and chief medical officer with BMGI. "Applying a clinical problem solving model to process and organizational problems provides a source of stability, enabling doctors, nurses and support staff to come together and leverage current capabilities to streamline operations, reduce risk, increase safety and organize workflows."

A physician and master black belt with 30 years of experience, Dr. Boudreau will be leading the workshop. He began his career as a U.S. Army physician, then founded a 40-physician medical practice. He currently practices medicine in the emergency department of St. Ann's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and is a consultant to the emergency department medical staff at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr. Boudreau's active knowledge and expertise expand into all facets of healthcare leadership and management, back-office operations and the entire gamut of clinical processes in hospital systems.

In this workshop, Dr. Boudreau will share his unique perspective about how healthcare leaders can leverage clinical problem solving to improve performance with little disruption, few resources and impressive results. He worked with senior management to develop the Jupiter Medical Center "Pathway," a problem solving approach that has become foundational to the organization's transformation using the tools of Lean Six Sigma. Joining Dr. Boudreau will be Scott Armstrong, the director of continuous improvement and innovation at JMC in Jupiter, Fla.
