Dr. Christopher Payne specializes in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine

CHICAGO, IL, February 1, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christopher Payne, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care research.
As a research professional with 14 years of experience, Dr. Payne specializes in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. He has applied his skills to the role of Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University for the past two years. Dr. Payne is responsible for directing a research team and conducting basic research in the molecular genetics of stem cells. Looking toward the future, he plans to continue expanding his research program, publish his team's scientific results, receive funding from the National Institutes of Health, and deliver lectures at conferences internationally.
A graduate of the University of Washington, Dr. Payne earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1994. He went on to attain a Ph.D. in Cellular and Developmental Biology from the Oregon Health and Science University in 2003. In 2004 through 2009, he completed postdoctoral fellowships in developmental genetics and reproductive biology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the University of Washington School of Medicine, and The Jackson Laboratory. Today, Dr. Payne remains current in his field through affiliations with the Society for the Study of Reproduction, American Society of Andrology and International Society for Stem Cell Research. He considers his success to be a direct result of his persistence and determination.
