/24-7PressRelease/ - HAMILTON, BERMUDA, September 12, 2007 - G. Dorothea Butterfield, JP, retired banking officer for HSBC Bank of Bermuda has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of Bermudian financial services.

Butterfield has an impressive background in finance, with 27 years of experience. As a banking officer of HSBC Bank of Bermuda, she managed accounts and assisted customers. Butterfield became the first female of color to hold a supervisory position in any of the local banks in Bermuda when she was promoted to supervisor of the savings department in 1971, and then to banking officer in 1978. "These were important milestones for not only my career but for women and other persons of color in Bermuda," she says. HSBC Bank of Bermuda provides personal and business financial services, checking and savings accounts, investment and mortgage services, payments and transfers and investment management as well as international banking solutions.

Butterfield holds a diploma in banking. She is a member of the Justice of the Peace of Bermuda and the Bermuda Diabetes Association. She served as the former treasurer of The Garden Club of Bermuda and as president of the Seniors Learning Center at Bermuda College. She is a founding member of the Business and Professional Women's Association of Bermuda.
