SAN ANTONIO, TX, February 06, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Advancements in the treatment of the skin has continued to improve over time. To help patients with rosacea and sun damage, Dr. Linda Banta, a San Antonio dermatologist, is now offering photo facials. With this procedure, patients can find relief from their rosacea and can successfully treat pigmentation, sun spots and sun damage for healthy looking skin.

"Nothing is quite as beautiful as smooth, soft, healthy-looking skin. Over time, the first effects of the sun, wind, time and hormones begin to appear. Our skin is our body's largest organ, but maintaining its youthful, vibrant appearance doesn't have to be a difficult process," said Dr. San Antonio, TX dermatologist, Dr. Linda Banta.

At Stone Oak Dermatology, Dr. Banta utilizes the newest technology from Lumenis M22, IPL treatment. This technology is used to deliver an intense but gentle burst of light that is absorbed by the blood vessels. Lumenis M22, IPL is the laser of choice for Dr. Banta, as it can treat broken blood vessels, dilated blood vessels, and redness of the face caused by rosacea or sun damage. The best results are seen with a minimum of four treatments, every three to four weeks.

After treatment in San Antonio for photo facials, patients may experience increased redness of the face immediately after treatment. This redness will typically fade over several hours and is mostly gone by the next day. Occasionally, bruising may occur, but will fade over the next week. Sun exposure should be avoided for two weeks prior and after treatment, and is best done from fall to spring when the skin is not tanned.
