Kentucky Attorney Karl Truman Raising Donations for Louisville Leg of Old Glory Relay

Louisville team will carry American flag 50 miles to Frankfort

It's important for veterans to be able to form relationships with civilians in their community, and I'm so proud to take part in such an event and raise money for the cause.

LOUISVILLE, KY, October 08, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Karl Truman Law Office announced Monday that founder Karl Truman will participate in this year's Old Glory Relay. Truman has set up a page on the Crowdrise website to raise donations benefiting Team Red White & Blue, an organization that strives to create events that bring military veterans and the community together.

"As a veteran, events like the Old Glory Relay mean a great deal to me," Truman said. "It's important for veterans to be able to form relationships with civilians in their community, and I'm so proud to take part in such an event and raise money for the cause."

On Thursday, Oct. 29, Truman and Team Red White & Blue Louisville will carry the American flag in a run from Louisville to Frankfort - a distance of approximately 50 miles. Members of the team will be raising money until the day of the run.

The Old Glory Relay started in San Francisco last month. The banner is currently proceeding east along U.S. Route 50 toward Kentucky. It is set to cross the finish line in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 8.

According to the Team Red White & Blue website, nearly 60 running teams are set to participate in the 3,540-mile journey in 2015. Teams are encouraged to tell "stories of empathy, action and impact" during their leg by using social media to share pictures and video as part of the relay's "Faces of Old Glory" campaign.

Truman said that supporters interested in giving money to the Old Glory Relay can make a donation by navigating to his page on Crowdrise and simply clicking the "Donate to This Fundraiser" button.

"Your support, both for Team Red White & Blue Louisville and the relay as a whole, would be much appreciated," he said. "The money raised goes toward programs and events that support strong connections between veterans and their neighbors."
