Jackson Design & Remodeling Designer Tatiana Machado-Rosas Wins HGTV's "Fresh Faces of Design" in the Kitchen + Dining Category

San Diego Designer Wins National Award for "Graceful Chic" Kitchen

SAN DIEGO, CA, November 11, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jackson Design and Remodeling (JDR) announced today that Design Department Manager and Senior Interior Designer Tatiana Machado-Rosas has won the highly competitive Kitchen + Dining category in HGTV's "Fresh Faces of Design" competition. Exceptional designers from around the nation were chosen by a panel of HGTV judges for their work in several categories, including Kitchen + Dining, Master Retreats, Kid-Tastic Spaces, Organically Inspired, Crazy for Color, and Great First Impressions (see a full list of winners below).

After five weeks of public voting online at hgtv.com, and over 57.8 million page views, Tatiana Machado-Rosas was named the Kitchen + Design winner for Jackson Design and Remodeling's "Graceful Chic" open-concept kitchen and dining space.

"Tatiana is an incredibly talented, hardworking designer," said Todd Jackson, President and CEO of Jackson Design and Remodeling. "She is constantly challenging herself to think creatively and strategically to deliver impeccable projects for our clients. HGTV is one of the most trusted sources for homeowners looking for design inspiration. To have Tatiana alongside the other incredible designers selected from across the nation is really exciting for us. And to have her win the Kitchen + Design category is just amazing. We have always been huge fans of Tatiana's work and we are so proud to have her lead our team of award-winning designers."

Machado-Rosas won the Kitchen + Dining category for her innovative work on an open-concept kitchen and dining space in a Rancho Santa Fe home. Machado-Rosas led the design for the project alongside Residential Designer John Kavan and was supported by Design Assistants Olga Trujillo and Priscilla Jimenez. The team changed the location of the kitchen to take advantage of the home's gorgeous views and to solidify the kitchen as the focal point of the home. The homeowners have an appreciation for both classic and modern artistry and wanted a kitchen that would showcase their taste for elegant and artistic design. Machado-Rosas selected a refined black and white palette balanced by clean, disciplined lines. Oak flooring with a distinct dark brown stain and a hint of whitewash contribute to a unified feeling in the space. With the kitchen relocated, the breakfast area now flows easily into the formal dining room. The homeowner's fascination with "statement" light fixtures is expressed in the space, which is now open, light-filled and connected to the rest of the home and to the natural surroundings with stylish black French doors. Now open and fluid, the kitchen and dining areas are graceful and chic while also offering a highly functional environment for spending time with family and entertaining.
