Dr. Constantino is noted for her work in the area of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)

PITTSBURGH, PA, June 22, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rose Eva Bana Constantino has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With an impressive career spanning more than four decades, Dr. Constantino has made her mark on the fields of nursing, academia and law. She is perhaps best noted for her research on the subject of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), which encompasses any acts of coercion, abuse and violence perpetrated by one partner toward another. Dr. Constantino has found IPV to be an underestimated, but major cause of death both nationally and internationally. She examines the nuances of IPV and its consequences on health. Furthermore, she has compared and tested a variety of technologies, combined with social support, to provide relief to women and teens experiencing IPV. Dr. Constantino has also studied the underlying systemic social justice issues leading to violence and health inequities, while encouraging health care practitioners to be mindful of the human experience accompanying these challenges to health.

Aside from her research, Dr. Constantino has spent a majority of her career as an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Nursing, and as a practicing lawyer. She is a forensic examiner, a fellow of both the American Academy of Nursing and the American College of Forensic Examiners, and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. She has developed courses addressing nurses' needs for enhanced forensic knowledge based upon a broad range of clinical nursing specialties, law and ethics.

Throughout her career, Dr. Constantino has authored peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, presentations, book chapters, and professional publications. She was the senior editor of the book, "Forensic Nursing: Evidence-Based Principles and Practice," published in 2013. The book provides readers with case studies to invoke critical appraisal of evidence, is a comprehensive guide in teaching and learning forensic nursing, and was translated into Japanese. She has provided educational support to nurses in her native country of the Philippines by teaching courses in the Ph.D. program at a university in the Philippines and mentoring faculty researchers through the STTI Gerontological Nursing Leadership Academy and the Asian American Pacific Islander Nurses Association. She a member of the ANA SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program Advisory Board, and is a 2016-2017 Fulbright Scholar. Dr. Constantino is also a well-sought speaker for nursing and health educational conferences, symposia, convocations, and other special nursing events worldwide. Her further professional affiliations include the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association.

A licensed clinical specialist in psychiatric and mental health nursing, Dr. Constantino is a registered nurse who holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing, a Ph.D. and a JD. Her extensive educational background and experience has resulted in a number of honors and awards, among them the Jessie M.
