A skilled entrepreneur, Mr. Jones has served as the owner and manager of J. Jones Enterprises, a trusted finance and investment company, since 1994. He has been a private investor in the city of Port Townsend, WA since 2002, and was a private investor in the city of Bellevue, Wash. from 1987 to 2002. Mr. Jones honed his investing skills while training at the Jones Building in Seattle from 1967 to 1969. He then worked as a manager of the building until 1986, holding the role of owner from 1978 through 1986. From 1974 to 1978, he also owned and managed Northwest Inboards in Bellevue.
Mr. Jones prepared for his career by earning a Bachelor of Arts in business and economics from Western Washington University in 1966. After graduation, he spent six years with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves while starting his career at the Jones Building. Mr. Jones remains affiliated with the American Association of Individual Investors, and the American Legion. He was a member of the Seattle Building Owners Management Association, where he served as a trustee from 1979 to 1986, and Building Owners and Managers International.
Aside from his professional endeavors, Mr. Jones enjoys boating, water skiing, automobiles and photography. He is a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, BoatUS, the National Rifle Association, the International Show Car Association, and the National Street Rod Association. Additionally, Mr. Jones has been a member of the Seattle Yacht Club since 1987 and has served on the Finance and other committees.
