Dr. Albert Rothenberg Honored for Accomplishments Research and Psychiatry

Dr. Rothenberg celebrates 60 years of professional excellence as a researcher, educator, and clinical psychiatrist



He is an official nominator for the annual Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology

    CANAAN, NY, August 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Albert Rothenberg has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Backed by nearly six decades of professional experience in psychiatry, Dr. Albert Rothenberg continues to excel in his chosen field. He began his career in 1956, when he graduated with an MD from Tufts University and carried out an internship at Pennsylvania Hospital. Since then, Dr. Rothenberg has served as a resident in psychiatry at Grace-New Haven Hospital, Yale University West Haven VA Hospital, and the Yale Psychiatric Institute, was Professor of Psychiatry at Yale, the University of Connecticut, and Harvard and practiced psychiatry in Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut. He employed both clinical and administrative experience through his roles as the chief resident at Yale Psychiatric Institute from 1960 to 1961, chief of neuropsychiatry at Rodriguez U.S. Army Hospital from 1961 to 1963, and director of research at the Austin Riggs Center from 1979 to 1994. Dr. Rothenberg currently utilizes his talents through his research at Harvard Medical School as well as his psychiatry practice in Canaan, NY.

Dr. Rothenberg has discovered three significant cognitive creative processes through in-depth studies of creativity as principal Investigator of the project "Studies in the Creative Process in Art, Science, and Other Fields." He has also carried out research on bipolar disorder, anorexia nervosa and psychotherapy. He published his findings in the following: "The Emerging Goddess: The Creative Process in Art, Science, and Other Fields", "Creativity and Madness: New Findings and Old Stereotypes", "The Creative Process of Psychotherapy", "Flight from Wonder: An Investigation of Scientific Creativity: and an extensive variety of professional journals, including the American Journal of Psychiatry, Lancet, and the Archives of General Psychiatry. In addition, Dr. Rothenberg has authored two novels, "Living Color" (2001) and "Madness and Glory" (2012).

As a testament to his achievements, Dr. Rothenberg has been featured in numerous editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the East between 1986 and 2016. He has also been honored with inclusion in three volumes of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, five volumes of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, two volumes of Who's Who in American Education and one volume of Who's Who Among Human Services Professionals. He is an official nominator for the annual Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology and he was the recipient of the Guggenheim Award in 1974, Fellowships at the Center for Behavioral Sciences in 1986 and 2014, and the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in Humanities and Social Science in 1992, the Kovler Award MESAB in 1999, and the Golestan Foundation Award in 1992 and 1993.
