United States Power Squadrons Digital Media Library Debuts Departing Video

The United States Power Squadrons (USPS) is now premiering the new "DEPARTING" streaming media video in its Digital Media Library (DML).



    RALEIGH, NC, October 31, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The United States Power Squadrons (USPS) announces the debut of its streaming media video focused on departing in its Digital Media Library (DML) online at http://www.uspsdml.org and as a free mobile app.

The new "Departing" video shows viewers how to depart from docks or slips by using their boats' engines' shifts, throttles, and steering, giving consideration to wind and current, while properly managing lines and maintaining a proper lookout throughout all activities.

Viewers will also learn how to make clear departures from mooring buoys by confirming there are no conflicts with their boats' intended actions in relation to other boats or activities in the vicinity and avoiding contact with mooring lines and buoys.

Also featured are special tips such as how to depart from a shoreline without damaging the propulsion unit and by avoiding obstructions and activities in that area.

Along with the new video, the USPS DML is adding a related boater education slideshow on Trailering as well as several new safe boating images.

The USPS DML is also distributing its "Departing" video through popular social media including Facebook and YouTube. All digital media in the library is offered at no charge.

The USPS Digital Media Library is produced under a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund administered by the US Coast Guard.

The United States Power Squadrons is the premier boating organization dedicated to "Safe Boating through Education" since 1914.
