In 1976, he achieved a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College and went on to work as a programmer for Brandon Applied Systems Inc. in San Francisco. His professional fortitude lent itself to a variety of other jobs; as he continued with his career, Mr. Schofield served as a programmer for Rand Information Systems Inc., IBM, the Office of Institutional Research at the University of California, Berkeley, Datis Corporation and Compuware Corporation. Due to his professional prowess, Mr. Schofield soon brought his notable skill set to Pacific Bell, where he worked as a programmer from 1996 to 2001, and its parent corporation, AT&T, where he remained until his retirement in 2010.

Passionate about advancements in his occupational field, Mr. Schofield maintains a membership with the Association for Computing Machinery. He also belongs to the Commonwealth Club of California, as well as the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
