Upper East Side Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is Offering Free Workshop on Fall Prevention

More than 2.8 million falls occur in older adults each year resulting in nearly 7 million injuries. On Friday, November 11, Upper East Side Rehabilitation and Nursing Center team of professionals will hold a workshop on "Strategies to Prevent Falls"

    NEW YORK, NY, November 10, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Upper East Side Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (UES) is offering a free workshop entitled "Strategies for Preventing Falls" as part of its Wellness Series to the community and beyond. Strategies for Preventing Falls is a class for older adults to help them reduce their risk of falling. The workshop is being held at Upper East Side Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 211 East 79th Street, New York, NY on Friday, November 11, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

One in three adults age 65 and older fall each year. Twenty to Thirty percent of people who fall suffer moderate to severe injuries. Every fifteen seconds across America, an older adult is sent to the E.R. for a fall related injury. More than 2.8 million falls occur in older adults each year resulting in nearly 7 million injuries.

The Strategies for Preventing Falls will be presented by the following UES team of professionals; Scott Mair - Administrator, Jennifer Wenk - Vice President of Social Work, Denise Robinson - Vice President of Nursing, Daisy Lope - Director of Social Work. There will also be a live re-enactment conducted by UES specialists to demonstrate correct action to take should a fall occur.
