Anne D. Sterling Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Publishing

Active in publishing since the '60s, Ms. Sterling is now a lecturer at the University of Richmond



    RICHMOND, VA, November 29, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anne D. Sterling has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in history from New York University in 1964, Anne D. Sterling embarked on a career in publishing. She has held several positions over the years, but started out in 1969 as an editorial staff member of the Columbia University FORUM Quarterly Journal in New York City. Ms. Sterling went on to work as an assistant editor for the Columbia Business School's Hermes Magazine, and later worked for Random House Publishing, where she served as an associate in the rights and permissions and human resources department.

In 1975, Ms. Sterling became a writing assistant for the syndicated columnist, Robert B. Parker, and two years later, she worked as a notes editor for Vassar College Quarterly Magazine. After a stint with the Rhinebeck Gazette-Advertiser as a community editor, she worked as a writing instructor for the BOCES program for gifted children within Poughkeepsie Public Schools for one year. Since 2012, she has served as a lecturer at the University of Richmond.

Throughout her career, Ms. Sterling has participated with a number of outside clubs and organizations, all while working in her field. She was an outreach parent for the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, president of the Bel Air Middle School PTA, a member of the Harford County Board of Education, chair of the Virginia Women's Network, president of the College Hills Civic Association, delegate for the United Nations conference on the Status of Women, and director of the International Association Torch Clubs, through which she received the Gold Award in 2010.

Ms. Sterling has remained current in her field through her affiliations with several organizations, including the National Organization of Women, ACLU, the American Association of University Women, the Virginia Library Association, the American Library Association, the World Affairs Council Greater Richmond, and the League of Women Voters. She has also been featured in Who's Who In Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Libraries, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
