He began his career upon graduating from Sam Houston State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1971 and a Master of Arts in 1975. Prior to joining Cedar Valley College as a professor of history in 1977, Dr. Rolling was a teacher with the Windham School District in Huntsville, Texas. While serving the academic community, he pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Texas, which he received in 1992. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Rolling has been continually recognized for his contributions to the field of history education. Since the turn of the century, he has been included in a wide range of honors publications, such as Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the Southwest. In addition, he was featured in the 27th and 28th editions of Who's Who in the World, which were published in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Although he is now retired, Dr. Rolling looks forward to remaining involved in the educational community in the coming years.
