Doris Mae Beausoleil Honored by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Housing Management

    NEW YORK, NY, December 01, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Doris Mae Beausoleil has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Backed by more than four decades of experience working for federal agencies, Ms. Beausoleil has dedicated her career to helping others achieve appropriate housing. With expertise in both immediate and long-term housing goals, she demonstrates an expertise in identifying affordable housing opportunities for those in need. Now retired, Ms. Beausoleil worked in roles such as housing consultant for the National Committee Against Discrimination Housing, housing director for the Division of Human Rights for the State of New York (appointed by Governor Rockefeller), and manager of the Interfaith Housing Strategy Committee of the Federation of Protective Welfare Agencies. Notably, Ms. Beausoleil contributed greatly to the NY/NJ Department of Housing and Urban Development. Over the years, she served as an equal opportunity compliance specialist, a federal women's program coordinator, a branch chief for Title VI Section 109 of the Compliance Division for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, coordinator of Section III, and a public trust specialist. When queried about her success, Ms. Beausoleil credited the idea that helping others is truly the best way to become the best version of oneself.

Ms. Beausoleil is a founding member of the New York State HUD Committee and she has taken on opportunities and civic projects in her community since the 1970s. Outside of her professional roles, she was a consultant and an examiner for the New York State Civil Service Commission, and a member of the board of directors of the National Association for Human Rights Workers. Additionally, Ms. Beausoleil was a member of the advanced panel for Housing Magazine. In recognition of professional excellence in her career, she was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Politics, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.

To support her career, Ms. Beausoleil earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and psychology from Goddard College, and a Master of Arts in human rights from New York University. She also took painting classes at Goddard College, attended the Art Student League of New York for several years, and painted in classes at MOMA and the MET as well as in Italy, Canada and Maine.

Additionally, she attended postgraduate courses at the City University of New York to further develop her skill set. Looking ahead, Ms. Beausoleil intends to take on select projects in the housing industry as opportunities arise; she also returned to the Art Student League of New York five years ago and has been at the National Academy School for many years.
