Published by Green Ivy in 2015, the slim tome chronicles the achievements of Larry Pretty Weasel, a Native American athlete who is largely recognized as one of Montana's greatest basketball players. A biology professor by trade, Dr. Dyche most recently taught at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. He began his career as a biology teacher at Billings Senior High School in Montana in 1964. Dr. Dyche then relocated to South Dakota, where he taught science at Black Hills State College. In 1985, he joined the faculty at Appalachian State University as the director of the Math and Science Education Center. Dr. Dyche's career also featured visiting professorships at the University of Wyoming and Brown University in Rhode Island.

Dr. Dyche's own academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in biology from Rocky Mountain College, earned in 1962, and a Master of Education in secondary education from Montana State University, earned in 1963. He later received an MST in biology and an Ed.D. in science education, both from the University of Montana. Dr. Dyche has remained current in the field of education through affiliations with the National Association of Biology Teachers and the National Science Teachers Association. A contributor of articles to professional journals, he is also the author of the book Humor in the Classroom: From Busby to Brown."

Over the course of his career, Dr. Dyche received a number of grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Math and Science Education Network. His efforts have also been recognized with a North Carolina Science Teaching Award from the North Carolina Science Teachers Association. Dr. Dyche has been featured in the 65th through 70th editions of Who's Who in America as well. He and his wife, Dona, have two children and two grandchildren.
