Pamela Smith Allen Celebrated by Marquis Who's Who for Contributions to Psychology

Dr. Allen is the author of the 2016 book, "The Necklace"



    OCEANSIDE, CA, January 04, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pamela Smith Allen has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After more than three and a half decades of practiced experience in her field, Dr. Allen retired from her role as a psychologist. Prior to entering the field in 1969, she earned a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Education and an Ed.S. from the University of Florida. After graduating, she started her career with Alachua County Schools as a special education teacher, after which she joined Duval County Schools in Jacksonville, Fla., where she held roles like special education teacher and school psychologist. Starting in 1973, she transferred to Daniel Memorial Home as a special education teacher, where she stayed for a year. Two years later, Dr. Allen took on the role of first grade teacher for Valley Center Schools, where she stayed for two years before joining San Diego City Schools as a special education teacher. Her longest role in the field was that of school psychologist for San Diego City Schools, where she worked from 1979 until her retirement in 2005. During this time, she also earned a Ph.D. from U.S. International University, and worked as a psychologist in private practice.

A licensed psychologist (currently inactive) and certified in pupil personnel services, Dr. Allen has had the opportunity to parlay her extensive knowledge into creative works such as "Enhancing Children's Creativity and Self Perceptions Through the Arts," a dissertation published in 1989, "Awakening to the Spirit Within: Eight Paths," which was published in 2004, and "The Necklace," which was published in 2016. A shining example of skill in her field, she affiliates herself with the Association of Research and Enlightenment and the Association of Retired Persons. Throughout the course of her notable career, she has been recognized many times for her work. Dr. Allen was in numerous publications, such as Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who in America. Looking forward, Dr. Allen intends to continue writing, teaching Tai Chi Chuan, and spending time with her family.
