Eugene Loveland Honored for Excellence in the Oil & Energy Industry

Eugene Loveland is an accomplished executive, military veteran and civic leader



    HOUSTON, TX, January 12, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eugene Franklin Loveland has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A respected gas industry executive, Mr. Loveland spent eight years as president of Transworld Oil USA, Inc. prior to his retirement in 1989. The company, formerly known as T.W. Oil Inc., is a holding company for businesses providing services to the oil, gas and energy industries. Mr. Loveland joined the company as president in 1981, and also served as chairman and chief executive officer from 1983 to 1989. He has also served on the board of directors for Transworld Oil Ltd. in Bermuda.

Mr. Loveland previously spent a majority of his career, from 1946 until 1980, with Shell Oil Company. His positions with Shell included vice president of the central marketing region and vice president of oil products. Mr. Loveland's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. In 1993, he received a Distinguished Alumnus Award from Wesleyan University.

A military veteran, Mr. Loveland served with the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1943 to 1945. He has been honored with The Distinguished Flying Cross and two Air Medals, and is a member of the Military & Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem. Mr. Loveland has held a number of civic positions over the years as well, such as member of the board of directors of Lyric Theatre in Houston, chairman of the Houston Ballet Foundation, vice president chairman of the Houston Better Business Bureau, director of the Cultural Arts Council of Houston, and chairman of the Greater Houston Ice Skating Council. He was also named an honorary consulate general of the Republic of Malta in Texas; in 2003, he received a National Order of Merit from the Country of Malta.

Mr. Loveland and his wife, Joan, have five children. His many accomplishments have been featured in the 44th through 70th editions of Who's Who in America, the 27th through 42nd editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and the 22nd through 33rd editions of Who's Who in the World. Mr. Loveland has also appeared in multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business.
