Gregory Charles Flood Celebrated by Marquis Who's Who for Valuable Contributions to His Field

    PITTSBORO, NC, January 17, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gregory Charles Flood has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Before obtaining his first professional role, Mr. Flood earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Albany. Upon graduation, he spent three years as a Personnel Technician for the Rensselaer County Civil Service Commission. At that point, he began a three-year stint with the New York State Department of Education, where he worked in the roles of Senior Personnel Administrator and Associate Program Budget Coordinator.

In 1980, Mr. Flood joined the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and for nearly thirty years, he served in a variety of roles, rising from Establishments Officer to Chief, Recruitment and Staffing Branch. During this time and in addition to his regular duties, he served for ten years as Secretary of the Finance Committee, one of the Organization's Governing Bodies. Since retiring from FAO in 2008, he has served as an international human resources management consultant for organizations such as the United Nations, the World Food Programme and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Mr. Flood supports the development of the field of human resources management as a professional discipline through his membership in the Association for Human Resources Management in International Organizations (founding member), the International Public Management Association for Human Resources and the American Society for Public Administration.

He has maintained his interest in international relations through his active membership in the United Nations Association USA (West Triangle Chapter - Vice President, 2011-12 and President, 2013-14) and the Carolina Friends of the Foreign Service (Board Member, 2015-present).

He has also been active in community organizations, having served as President of the East Greenbush Republican Club in New York in 1974, a volunteer firefighter for the East Greenbush Fire Department from 1974 to 1980 and Treasurer of the American International Club of Rome in 1995-96 and as President in 1996-98 and 2004-06.

Mr. Flood served his nation during the Vietnam War as an Interior Communications Electrician (Petty Officer 2nd Class) in the US Navy from 1966 to 1970 and is now active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (Quartermaster, Joe Wagner Post 7313, 2014-present).

A shining example of skill in his field, he has had the honor of being named to Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World.
