Before entering the field in a professional capacity, he earned a Ph.D. from Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne University. Dr. Lefaure proceeded to land the role of deputy director for the CEPN Center, and stayed from 1981 until 2007. He also garnered experience as a consultant for radiological risk management for ALARA and the head of the ISOE European Technical Center.

During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with two children and two grandchildren, traveling and sculpting.
