VANCOUVER, WA, February 23, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephen H. Archer has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In pursuit of his passion for economics, Dr. Archer worked hard to establish himself in the field. He started out by earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota in 1949, after which he joined J.M. Dain Co., as a manager trainer. In 1952 he was promoted to account manager of the company, and in 1953, he furthered his cause by obtaining a Master of Science from his alma mater. That led to a teaching position in economics at the school, which eventually propelled Dr. Archer to transfer to the University of Washington, where he served in the roles of assistant professor, associate professor, professor, and chairman of the finance, business economics, and quantitative methods department over the course of nearly a decade and a half. During that time, he earned a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Minnesota and also pursued postdoctoral studies at UCLA. More recently, he worked for Willamette University as a professor and dean of the Graduate School of Administration.

Throughout his career, Dr. Archer has contributed his knowledge to such creative works as "Introduction to Mathematics for Business Analysis," "Business Finance: Theory and Management," "The Theory of Business Finance," "Introduction to Financial Management," and "Cases and Readings in Corporate Finance." He has also had the honor of inclusion into two editions of Who's Who in American Education, four volumes of Who's Who in Finance and Business, and two editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering. Looking toward the future, Dr. Archer intends to continue parlaying his knowledge of economics to others.
