Backed by many years of practiced industry experience, Mr. Cha excels as the founder and chief executive officer of Nanotech, Inc., which provides a range of services, including optical emission spectroscopy, end point detectors and plasma monitors, and film thickness measurement tools. Earlier in his career, he worked as the founder and CEO of Altech, as well as a research engineer for NewTech Korea, and affiliate professor in mechatronics engineering at Korea Polytechnic University.
An alumnus of Seogang University and Korea Polytechnic University, Mr. Cha holds a Bachelor of Science in physics and a Master of Science in nano-optical engineering. During his tenure as a student, he conducted research on gas monitoring SPOES to optimize fault detection in CVD processes. Throughout his career, Mr. Cha has obtained numerous patents, including a WDM free space laser communication system in 2004, an integrated plasma sensor for semiconductor process monitor in 2009, a contamination resistor window for a semiconductor process chamber in 2014, and most recently, a compensated white light source for a wafer thickness monitor in 2016. Additionally, Mr. Cha was celebrated for his professional accomplishments with a Korea Prime Minister Award at the 5th Academic-Industrial Cooperation-Industry Technology Fair in 2005.
