Mary Ellen Ayres Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Public Information Writing & Editing

Ms. Ayres achieved success in prominent roles for the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S. Department of Labor

An editorial professional with more than five decades of experience working and writing in the field of public information, Ms. Ayres is regarded for one thing above all: her exceptional work ethic. Now retired, she celebrates her tenure, during which she achieved success in prominent roles for the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S. Department of Labor. She was a public information specialist for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and an editor for the Manpower Administration's Bureau Labor Statistics. Later, she drew on her education and applied her knowledge to civic work as a teacher of a newsletter class, as well as an editing style and technique class at the Department of Agriculture Graduate School.

As she moved through her career, Ms. Ayres remained at the top of the field by affiliating with the National Association of Government Communicators. During her time working with the organization, she served as founding treasurer, director, national capital chapter treasurer and chairman of the Blue Pencil Contest.
