Before beginning his residency, he completed a surgical internship at Church Hospital Corp., an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University. Once he completed his residency in otolaryngology, he became a junior attending, fellow and residency coordinator in the department he now works. A fellow through the American College of Surgeons, he has won many awards for his work in the field, including a teaching award through the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Sundaram has been featured in four volumes of Who's Who in America, and one volume each of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
