Dr. Gyong-Chol Kim Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in the Sciences

    BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA, June 14, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Gyong-Chol Kim has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For many years, Dr. Kim has acted as the chief technology officer of the Norman Technology Center. Since 2010, he has also served on the evaluation committee of the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Advancement. Over his years with the Agency, he has evaluated six projects on such topics as eco-friendly lighting systems, the development of a nano-processing machine using the ion beam, and the development of an ion beam column unit. In 2014, Dr. Kim also took on a role with the new technology commercialization technology assessment committee with the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology. Earlier in his career, he joined Nexen Tire Ltd as a manager, Mitsubishi Electric as a researcher, and Woogyung Eng. Co. Ltd., as both the CEO and CTO.

An alumnus of Dong-A University, Dr. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts, and a Ph.D. Notably, he has obtained numerous patents in the field for a concentrated cell module, a solar cell, and three separate alignment lasers. Throughout his many years in the field, Dr. Kim published numerous papers, including "Photolysis Properties of Merocyanine Dye LB Films by Various Time of UV Irradiation," "Optical and Electrical Characteristics of Merocyanine Dye with Arachidic Acid LB Film using STM," and "Morphological and Electrical Characteristics of Silsequioxane Polymer LB Films Containing Phenyl Group." Further, his research has been published in the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the Journal of Seoul National University.

Dr. Kim, as a Nano Technology expert, gave his presentation on principles of SPM at the R&DB session of the Nano Korea Symposium. SPMs are a family of tools used to make images of nanoscale surfaces and structures, including atoms. This technology is the emerging next-generation science and the foundation of the technology that is releasing the ultimate question of humanity. He is planning and evaluating science and technology for the happiness, health, environment, climate, policy, change, etc. that people seek. He persuades the capitalists to make sure that the fast-paced technology is moving in the right direction, and explains the need for the right policy to politicians so that they can continue to develop within the human moral and legal realm.
