Dr. Diane R. Bienek Honored by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in the Sciences

Dr. Bienek has served as a research scientist for the ADA Foundation and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine



Her work has been featured in such prestigious journals as the Journal of Material Science: Materials in Medicine, and the Journal of the American Dental Association.

    GAITHERSBURG, MD, June 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Diane Rose Bienek has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A respected professional in the field of dental and biomedical research, Dr. Bienek parlays over 15 years' professional experience into her current role as a scientist and project leader in cell physiology for the ADA Foundation -- a position in which she has served since 2013. This is not an unfamiliar position for Dr. Bienek, as she worked in the same capacity for both the Henry M. Jackson Foundation and the Naval Institute for Dental and Biomedical Research. Over the years, she has also lent her expertise to General Dynamics Information Technology and the Naval Medical Research Unit.

An alumna of Weber State University, Utah State University, and the University of Alberta, Dr. Bienek holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Science and a Ph.D. Throughout her career, she has conducted research on various topics, such as risk assessments and sensitivity meta-analysis of alveolar osteitis occurrence in oral contraceptive users, the evaluation of point-of-care technologies to assess safety, efficacy and optimal use, and advancement of novel biomemetic nanofiber scaffolds for in vitro construction of wound dressings. Her work has been featured in such prestigious journals as the Journal of Material Science: Materials in Medicine, the Journal of the American Dental Association, and the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease.

Notably, Dr. Bienek has received many awards for her efforts in the scientific community, including the American Society of Parasitologists Prize from the Canadian Society of Zoologists, which she achieved two consecutive years (1997 and 1998). Additionally, she has been featured in the 11th edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, eight editions of Who's Who in the World, and two editions of Who's Who of American Women.
