Prior to his involvement in entrepreneurial endeavors and executive management, he established a reputable military career with the U.S. Air Force, where he remained for 30 years. Roles held during his tenure in the service included colonel, squadron commander, and senior intelligence officer. Further, Mr. Chaplin was the Department of Defense's senior portfolio manager for the USAF Military Intelligence Program. He was also a National Military Intelligence Center desk officer and academic coordinator for the Peace Support Operations Training Centre.

An alumnus of the University of California, Mr. Chaplin holds a Bachelor of Arts. He also earned a Master of Arts from the Naval War College, and maintains alignment with the Cyber Security Forum Initiative and Association of Intelligence Officers.
