NEW YORK, NY, July 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The New York Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Administrators (NYC-ACHCA), and Age Concern Bermuda will meet during the Summer Leadership Conference later this month to discuss international cooperation in long-term care. The result may be establishing an affiliate chapter of the American College of Healthcare Administrators in Bermuda.

Larry Slatky, with the New York Chapter of the ACHCA said, "Working closely with national ACHCA, I plan to meet with Claudette Flemming of Age Concern Bermuda to review the advantages and obligations of active membership in the College, which could lead to affiliate status."

Claudette Fleming, the Director of Age Concern Bermuda expressed interest in a closer working relationship between the US-based ACHCA and the Bermuda-based organization. "The demographic, labor, and program issues being faced by providers and caregivers in Bermuda are very similar to those of our colleagues in the US. We see a potential further affiliation as an excellent opportunity for both organizations."

Mr. Slatky, a recognized leader in long-term care, has been coordinating the Summer Leadership Conference, the NYC-ACHCA's annual program, which has been hosted in Bermuda for the past 18 years. Last year, Dr. Fleming gave a presentation to the participants at the Summer Leadership Conference. She was warmly received by the Summer Leadership Conference audience, and this year's meeting between Mr. Slatky and Dr. Fleming is a result of this initial interaction.

This year's Summer Leadership Conference, July 24-28 at the Fairmont, Southampton in Bermuda is the 30th annual program. Featuring nationally renowned facilitators, working with a small group of healthcare leaders, the event is widely recognized as among the best leadership development training programs.
