SARASOTA, FL, July 11, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Dr. Norman David Mohl a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Dr. Mohl celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Spending nearly a decade in private practice as a dentist in Buffalo, N.Y., Dr. Mohl decided to leave his business behind to venture into higher education full time. Entering the classroom for the very first time at his alma mater, State University of New York, he spent nearly 25 years serving students as a professor and distinguished service professor. He also served as the university's associate dean of academic affairs for more than 15 years, as founder and director of their Oral Science Master of Science graduate program for another 17 years, and as founding chairman of the department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences for 10 years. Reaching emeritus status and officially retiring in 2005, Dr. Mohl was named Distinguished Service Professor by SUNY from 1971 to 2005 for his years of service and dedication.

Dr. Mohl completed a master's degree at State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo State, a DDS at the University of Buffalo, and a PhD in Anatomy, also at SUNY. After completing his PhD, he served active duty as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1956 to 1958. Contributing numerous articles to professional journals throughout his career, Dr. Mohl also authored and edited "A Textbook of Occlusion," in 1988, followed by "TMJ and Masticatory Muscle Disorders," in 1995, and has been featured in more than 20 editions of Who's Who.

Serving as a council member on dental materials, instruments and equipment for the American Dental Association of Chicago from 1987 to 1992, Dr. Mohl is a former consultant for the National Institutes of Health of Washington and the Food and Drug Administration of Washington. He is a current member of the International Association for Dental Research, Neurosciences, the TMJ-Orofacial Pain Programs, for which he served as president, and the American Council on Education, for which he served as Fellow of Academy Administration and as Special Assistant to the Vice President for Health Sciences.

After retiring from his career in education and relocating to south Florida, Dr. Mohl started "Village Walk University," named after the community in which he lives. Gathering other retirees from the community, he formed a weekly lecture series that allowed for professionals to share their knowledge and expertise for the benefit and enjoyment of all. One particular lecture, for example, involved the evolution of comedy and the significant health benefits that come with laughter.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Norman David Mohl has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
