Dr. David W. Brandes Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Health Care

Dr. Brandes is a revered educator and health care specialist, with an expertise in neurology, including specialty expertise in multiple sclerosis, stroke and sleep disorders.

    KNOXVILLE, TN, August 08, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. David William Brandes has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Brandes is a revered educator and health care specialist, with an expertise in neurology, including specialty expertise in multiple sclerosis, stroke and sleep disorders. Now, backed by 40 years' experience, he is a physician at Hope Neurology/Multiple Sclerosis Center in Knoxville, TN. Previously from 1977-2008 he was Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at UCLA. Since moving to Knoxville, TN in 2008, he has served as Clinical Instructor in Neurology at South College. Always a pioneer, Dr. Brandes founded and served as the director of Northridge Neurological Center very early on in his career. He was also the founder and medical director of Northridge Multiple Sclerosis Center in 1996.

A certified multiple sclerosis specialist, Dr. Brandes attended such institutions as Knox College and UCLA, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry, a Master of Science in biochemistry and an MD. His professional associations include the American Academy of Neurology and the Stroke Council of the American Heart Association, and he has been elected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and a Fellow of the American Stroke Association. He has participated in many research protocols for neurological diseases and has published many scientific articles regarding multiple sclerosis and other neurological diseases. In addition to his extensive work in the medical field, Dr. Brandes has also contributed to numerous Chapters of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in a civic capacity, as well as other non-profit medical associations. He has also presented medical information annually to US Senators and Representatives in Washington, DC, on behalf of the American Academy of Neurology and the National MS Society. Throughout his career, he has been celebrated for his professional accomplishments with inclusion in the 66th through 70th editions of Who's Who in America.
