Dr. Hung is a noted economics professor and researcher who taught at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton for 26 years.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL, August 14, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Chao-Shun Hung a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Dr. Hung celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Hung is a noted economics professor and researcher who taught at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton for 26 years, serving as chairman of the department from 1992 to 1994. He arrived in the U.S. in 1969 after teaching for four years in a high school in Taiwan. Naturalized in America, Dr. Hung contributed to U.S. economics in collaboration with other academics, producing a number of influential texts and economic papers in the field with a specialty in industrial, regional, and international economics.

A Taiwan native, Dr. Hung was born to Chiang-Shu and Yu-Mei Hung in 1942 during the Japanese occupation of the island territory. With the end of World War II, Taiwan was returned to China. Dr. Hung attended Taiwan Normal University in Taipei to earn a Bachelor of Arts in 1964 before his long teaching career. When he arrived in the United States, Dr. Hung attended St. Louis University to earn an MBA, and went on to Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University to earn a PhD in economics in 1982.

Dr. Hung joined Florida Atlantic University in 1982, and is known for contributing to a Cambridge publication "The Economics of Imperfect Competition" with Melvin L. Greenhut and George Norman. The book represented a new microeconomic theory at the time that took "real life" markets into account, which differs from economic ideas of the market as a perfectly competitive paradigm. The book suggested that no two industries trade in the same way, and offered a new way of analyzing those unique features, such as storage, transport, and multinational enterprise, perfectly timed to offer insight with statistics a decade after Nixon opened trade with China.

Dr. Hung also collaborated with Richard J. Cebula in 1992 with "The Savings and Loan Crisis." Dr. Hung is a member of the American Economic Association, and was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, two volumes of Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and the 1987 to 1988 volume of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. He is the recipient of the College Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching (1989), University Research Award (1993), Teaching Incentive Program Award (1995) and Professor Emeritus of Economics Award (2007). Dr. Hung was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1977, and married Jane Ann Chien in 1984. He enjoys fishing, swimming, and music.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Hung has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
