Young Dong Cho Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Dr. Cho celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Dr. Cho is the director of the Institute New Millennium Evangelization in Seoul, a position he assumed after retiring as emeritus professor of Yonsei University in 2003. He holds numerous patents in the field of biochemistry, and notably served as a professor of Yonsei from 1963 to 2003, as well as dean of the university from 1996 to 1998. Dr. Cho is the author of the 1985 book "Biochemistry," and has received a 1993 Academy Award from the Korean Society of Ginseng, where he previously served as president from 1989 to 1990.

Born in Hwang Hae, Republic of Korea, to Tae Kyu Cho and Sa Nam Chae, Dr. Cho studied with Chung-Ang University in the capital city, and went on to a Master of Science from Yonsei University in 1961. He traveled to the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada, to earn a PhD in 1971. Dr. Cho returned to Republic of Korea, and in 1977, he was named head of the department of biochemistry at Yonsei. He first assumed administrative duties as an associate dean in 1983, and from 1990, he became associate dean of the graduate school at Yonsei.

In addition to those roles, Dr. Cho was appointed director of the Natural Science Research Institute of Yonsei from 1994 to 1996, and participated with the advisory committee of the National Institute of Science Investigation in Seoul. He also taught with the University of Minnesota in Saint Paul as a visiting professor in 1986, and is a member of the Biochemical Society of Korea.

For his many years of dedicated service to Yonsei University, he was honored with an Academy Award in 1993. Dr. Cho was selected for inclusion in the pages of Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Asia. He is married to Chong Soon Kim, with whom he has raised two children, Yong Sul and Yong Duk.
