Mrs. Pallasch has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of art

CHICAGO, IL, September 27, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Magdalena H. Pallasch a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Mrs. Pallasch celebrated many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Born September 6, 1908, in Chicago Mrs. Pallasch was a student at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the American Academy of Fine Arts before studying with Joseph Allworthy during the mid-1930s. Going back to school years later, she spent time at the University of Chicago, all the while working on her artwork. Having since passed away in 2011, she leaves behind a son, B. Michael Pallasch, a daughter, Diana Pallasch Miller, and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Pallasch's work has included an exhibit, featuring two murals and 10 life-size silhouettes for the Woman's World Fair in Chicago in 1928, which earned her a great deal of attention and led to her expanding her work for inclusion in the Century of Progress World Fair Exhibition in Chicago during 1933 and 1934. In addition to various other exhibitions, she was more recently included at the Montifiori Estate and the Hinsdale Art Center in the mid-to-late 1990s, and also painted a mural for St. Mary of the Lake Church in 1987.

Well-known for her portraits, which include those of Cardinal Francis George, Dr. Esteban Rocca Costa of Lima, Peru, Frank Lewis of Chicago, and Cardinal John Cody, as well as countless others, Mrs. Pallasch has also been represented in private and public collections at Loyola University in Chicago, Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois, the International College of Surgeons in Chicago, the Medical Library, the Columbus Hospital in Chicago, and other locations.

Throughout the course of her lifetime, Mrs. Pallasch was very active in her community. She spent time on the Presentation Ball Auxiliary, in the President's Club and as a member of the Women's Board at Loyola University and was a Dame Commandeur of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem. Furthermore, she was a member and vice president of the Chicago branch, and art chairman of the National League of American Pen Women, where she also received a Margaret Dingle Memorial Award in 1979. She also was a member of the Municipal Art League of Chicago, the National Society of Arts and Letters, where she spent time as art chairman and national chaplain, Friends of Austria, Friends of The D'Arcy Gallery of Medieval and Renaissance Art, the Illinois Catholic Women's Club, and the Cuneo Museum of Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Between 1960 and 2006, Mrs. Pallasch was recognized with more than a dozen awards for her artwork, including a First Award for Still Life by the Arts Club in New York City, an Award of Excellence for her portrait of author Gail Brook Burket by the Wheaton Historical Museum, and a Best Classic Award by the Vanderpoel Gallery. Also recognized by Who's Who, she was listed in Who's Who in America 10 times since 1998, Who's Who in the Midwest twice, Who's Who in the World once, and in volume 23 of Who Was Who in America.

Growing up on the north side of Chicago, Mrs. Pallasch was a fashion illustrator prior to pursuing her passion for art exclusively. A lifetime parishioner at St. Mary of the Lake, she was married to Bernhard M. Pallasch, the former business owner of the North Shore Delivery Company, for 46 years before his passing in 1977. Painting up until the time of her death at age 103, it was her greatest joy, second to her family. Shortly after her passing, the Chicago City Council passed a resolution honoring her life and her accomplishments.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Magdalena Pallasch has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
