Philip David Moran Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

An attorney and proprietor of the Law Offices of Philip D. Moran, Mr. Moran brings 50 years of experience in the field with him to his firm. Starting out as a House Counsel for Viatron Computer Systems Corporation in Burlington, Massachusetts, in 1968, he remained with the computer company for three years, when he made partner with Kane & Moran in the nearby town of Lynn. Six years later, Mr. Moran formed his own private practice law firm in Salem and he has been in business for himself ever since.

Licensed by the Bar of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts, the U.S. Supreme Court, the First Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Federal Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Mr. Moran also served as an assistant district attorney for Essex County, Massachusetts, from 1974 to 1978. Furthermore, he was general chairman of the bicentenary committee for Maynooth College from 1994 to 1996. He also served on a handful of organization's board of directors, as well as other roles that included president, board of directors and treasurer, with National Right to Life Inc., Massachusetts Citizens for Life, the Catholic Lawyers Guild and the Pro Life Legal Defense Fund. He was also a member of the Boston Archdiocesan Pastoral Council from 2004-2012. Mr. Moran was also the Chairman of the City of Salem Conservation Committee from 1982 to 1990 and was an Election Commissioner of the City of Salem from 2005 to 2012. He has also been a member of the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta from 1996 to the present.

Mr. Moran has been affiliated with the Salem Bar Association, the Lynn Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Academy Elder Law Attorneys. He holds a BA from the College of the Holy Cross, an EdM from Salem State College, and a JD from Suffolk University Law School. He is the recipient of several awards, including an Ignatius O'Connor Pro Life Award in 1994, a Gold Medal of St. Patrick by Maynooth College in 1996, the Massachusetts Family Institute Citizenship Award in 1998, a Leadership Award by the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2003 and the Thomas More Award from the Pro Life Legal Defense Fund in 2012.

Beyond his professional tenure, Mr. Moran served in the US Army from 1960 to 1966. He has been included in more than 20 editions of Who's Who in America and several editions of Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in the World.

Mr. Moran is married to Carole A. (Regan) Moran, a talented artists and calligrapher. They have two children, Maura and David, and two grandchildren, Taylor and Alexa.

One of Mr. Moran's proudest moments include having served as co-counsel in the matter of McCullen vs. Coakley, which was decided 9-0 by the U.S. Supreme Court in her favor and having his picture on the front page of the Wall Street Journal with his client Eleanor McCullen. In 2014, he also represented the parents of Justina Pelletier and is still instrumental in attempting to pass Justina's Law, which would give parents in any case, where there is a controversy between two doctors or two hospitals, the power to make the decision as to where to bring their child. This case was broadcasted internationally and garnered much notice from colleagues as well as the general public.
