For four years, he served as a project leader relating to the development of a radio signal processing section. Subsequently, he worked as a director of the WCDMA modem division and director of the radio technology department. Currently, he is working on developing dynamic spectrum access technologies as a project leader.
A graduate of Korean Aerospace University and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Dr. Kim holds a Bachelor's degree, as well as a Master's degree and PhD in Electrical Engineering. His professional affiliations include the Korea Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science and the Korea Institute of Communication Science. Throughout his career, he has contributed his knowledge to a number of revolutionary technologies, including a radio monitoring system, which has been used at the Central Radio Monitoring Office in Korea since 2006. Additionally, he has published more than 10 papers in international journals and attained in excess of 50 patents in Korea and the United States.
Notably, Dr. Kim has been awarded many times for his outstanding accomplishments in the field of engineering. Over the years, he has received the President Award and Prime Minister Award through the Republic of Korea, and earned a Certificate of Appreciation through IEEE for his outstanding contributions to IEEE standards.
