He has served in the Missouri area for over 19 years as a physician and is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at St. Louis University. Since arriving in the U.S. in 1987, Dr. Singh has continued to advance the clinical practice of nephrology and hypertension. Since 1999, he has served on the medical advisory board of the National Kidney Foundation and multiple other medical societies.
Born in Patiala, India to Charanjit Singh and Pritinder Kaur, Dr. Singh earned an MD from the University of Delhi and served his internship and residency with the university's affiliated hospitals. In 1988, he joined the Nassau County Medical Center as an intern, after serving a year as an endocrinology research associate at the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School. He served as a research associate in medical transplantation with the Presbyterian Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh.
In 1990, Dr. Singh entered into a residency in internal medicine with the Easton Hospital and Hahnemann University Hospital, and in 1992, he joined the University of Michigan as a clinical fellow with the nephrology division. Dr. Singh joined St. Louis University as a clinical assistant professor in the late '90s, and served as a nephrology consultant in several hospitals and dialysis units in the St. Louis and surrounding areas. Today, he cares for patients with kidney disease as the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Medical Director in St. Louis, Jefferson County, Perry County, Washington County, Iron County and Granite City, Illinois.
In addition to his role as a physician, Dr. Singh is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), and a fellow of the National Kidney Foundation (FNKF). Dr. Singh's name can be found in the bylines of numerous professional journals and medical textbooks.
