Vernon Y.T. Woo has over 47 years of experience in all phases of commercial transactions including real estate acquisition and sale, development, financing, management, closely held business acquisitions and mergers, operations and governance, and in commercial, probate and real estate dispute resolution/litigation. He has 14 years of judicial experience as a per diem judge in the District Courts of the First Circuit, State of Hawaii. Mr. Woo also has extensive experience in real estate brokerage, having acquired and sold for his own and his clients' portfolios, over 400 condominium, commercial, and residential units since 1973. In addition, he has personally developed a nineteen home, private, gated community (The Woodlands) in Nuuana, Hawaii, acquired and converted to residential condominium status, a ninety-nine unit apartment building, and acquired, managed and sold a twenty-three thousand square foot commercial building in Kakaako, Hawaii.

For the first 15 years of his practice, Mr. Woo founded and managed his own law firm of fourteen attorneys specialized in labor, commercial and construction litigation, and commercial transactions (Woo, Kessner & Duca). Becoming Of Counsel to his law firm in 1987, Mr. Woo spent the next ten years of his practice as a real estate developer and as general counsel and advisor to his business clients. Upon completion of his real estate developments, Mr. Woo has continued to assist his clients in contract negotiations, real property and commercial transactions, real estate brokerage, financing and developments matters, land use matters, as general counsel and advisor to clients seeking condotel operations expertise, and privately held business formation, regulation and governance, and commercial, probate and contract dispute resolution.

Recently, Mr. Woo has served as a court appointed trustee in a complex asset and litigious trust estate of over $100,000,000.00, which has been successfully settled, a court appointed Master and Receiver in a contentious probate estate, and a court appointed Commissioner to sell real estate property assets.

Mr. Woo holds Martindale-Hubbell's highest possible professional rating ('AV", pre-eminent). This rating is given by Mr. Woo's legal peers based on their knowledge of his work, reputation and integrity. Mr. Woo has been included in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law.

Mr. Woo received a BA and MA from the University of Hawaii. He continued his education at Harvard University, where he obtained a JD in 1969. He has served as a lecturer for the National Business Institute on land use in Hawaii, and as an expert witness in real estate legal actions. He is the author of The Paradise Pursuit (Island Heritage Publishing Co.) and past member of the board of directors of the Hawaii Bar Association, Child and Family Service, The Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii, and The Physicians' Exchange. He is also past president of The Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii and The Physicians' Exchange.

The son of William Shu­Bin and Hilda Woo, Mr. Woo was born on August 7, 1942 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He himself is the parent of Christopher Shu­Bin and Lia Gay. He enjoys open water swimming, reading and writing, and spending time with the Outrigger Canoe Club.
