George Freas Honored by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Software

Mr. Freas has been featured in 17 editions of Who's Who in America



    HUNTSVILLE, AL, October 09, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- George W. Freas II has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Supported by more than three decades of practiced industry experience, Mr. Freas currently lends his expertise to a myriad of scientific and technical subject areas. He has served as the International Space Station ground test software lead at Marshall Space Flight Center since 2003, and also as general manager of Freas Consulting, LLC (formerly Synergistic Consultants, Inc) since 1991. His illustrious career has spanned Aerospace, Military, Information Technology, and Commercial assignments, with predominance at NASA engagements. From 1997 until 2010, Mr. Freas was a Master's level adjunct professor of Computer Science at American Sentinel University, where he designed Master's level courses including the Compiler Construction course.

An alumnus of Western Kentucky University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Mr. Freas holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Computer Science. In keeping abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Freas is affiliated with the American Astronautical Society where he was chosen as an advisor on the International Space Station (ISS) Utilization Technical Committee. In this role, Mr. Freas has served as session chair for Technical Breakout Sessions at ISS Research & Development conferences. His unique Aerospace related ideas have yielded patent applications being filed by Boeing, citing Mr. Freas as inventor. Over the years, his extensive knowledge has contributed to numerous creative works, including "Canny Canon", published in 1990, GEN7 Desktop Software in 1993 and the LALL parser generator in 1994.

Mr. Freas' hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed. He earned the Boeing Meritorious Invention Award in 2009, and has been featured in four editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, seven editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest, nine editions of Who's Who in the World, and 17 editions of Who's Who in America.
