JACKSON HEIGHTS, NY, October 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Jane Schuyler, PhD, a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Dr. Schuyler celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Schuyler became professor emeritus of fine arts at the York College of the City University of New York (CUNY) in 1996, where she spent the bulk of her teaching career. She began working at the university in 1973 as an assistant professor, and spent time as an associate professor and later as full professor. During these years, Dr. Schuyler also served for a short time as an adjunct associate professor at Long Island University.

Dedicated to a lifelong career in teaching, the classroom is where Dr. Schuyler felt most comfortable. It enabled her to blend her love for art with her dedication to education, and her vivacious attitude inside the four walls of the classroom was obvious to both her students and faculty members alike. Early in her career, Dr. Schuyler was a research grantee at Columbia University. She was also a recipient of a Research Award by PSC-CUNY, and authored a book in 1976, "Florentine Busts: Sculpted Portraiture in the Fifteenth Century," and has since contributed numerous articles to professional journals in her field. Mostly, these pieces concern Michelangelo and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Dr. Schuyler holds a BA from Queens College, an MA from Hunter College, and a PhD from Columbia University.

Dr. Schuyler was previously a member of the International Fine Arts Committee for the Women's Art Festival during the mid-1970s, as well as president of the United Community of Democrats in Jackson Heights, N.Y. during the late 1980s. For her tireless dedication, Dr. Schuyler has been named to approximately 40 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
