Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Horiuchi graduated from the University of Tokyo with a PhD in Engineering in 1996 and a Bachelor's degree in 1970. Renowned in his industry for his research in new lithograph system technology and in the development of innovative optical lithography processes, he currently serves as a professor at Tokyo Denki University, a position he has held since 1997. He is currently pursuing research in unique optical lithography technologies with a focus on the development of various experimental exposure systems. Additionally, his research explores the field of education of optics, optical instruments, and mechanical design and drawing.

Dr. Horiuchi previously served as a research engineer and senior research engineer at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) from 1985 to 1997, and at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation from 1970 to 1985. He also serves as a member of multiple organizations, including the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, the Japan Society of Precision Engineering, the Microprocesses and Nanotechnology Conference, and the Japan Society of Applied Physics. Additionally, he serves Photomask Japan as a member of the advisory committee.

Some of Dr. Horiuchi's most notable achievements include the invention and verification of annular illumination exposure systems for improving resolution in projection lithography, liquid-crystal-display matrix exposure systems, slim line imaging double exposure recipe, laser scan exposure systems for delineating patterns on fine wires and pipes, synchronous scan exposure systems for printing patterns on fine pipes, and exposure systems for delineating patterns on inner surfaces of fine pipes. Additionally, Dr. Horiuchi is proud to have invented and verified exposure systems using gradient-index lens arrays as projection lenses, code mark printing systems using light emitting diodes as exposure sources, and the development of low-cost simple exposure systems using camera lenses for civilian use as projection lenses. Particularly, at Tokyo Denki University, he has developed 30 innovative and unique characteristic exposure systems used for lithography.

Dr. Horiuchi claims his career highlight to be having graduated more than 200 students from his laboratories. Dr. Horiuchi's achievements have been recognized for their significance in improving the resolution in projection lithography, and he continues to contribute to his industry through his innovative and creative developments. As a reputable member of his industry, he has been featured in numerous editions of Who's Who in the World.

Dr. Horiuchi's career highlights are not limited to his innovative developments in the field of optical lithography, but extend into his role in the education of topical technologies and mechanic design and drawing. Dr. Horiuchi continues his work in research and education as a part-time teacher at Tokyo Denki University. He is the son of Suezo Horiuchi and Katsu Horiuchi, and is married to Katsuko Horiuchi. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, walking, travelling, jogging, and practicing Kendo as a fifth degree black belt.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Horiuchi has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
