Anna A. Yoder Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Now retired, Ms. Yoder was an elementary school educator of 32 years.

An accomplished listee, Ms. Yoder celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Now retired, Ms. Yoder was an elementary school educator of 32 years. Ms. Yoder completed a Bachelor's degree at Eastern Mennonite College in 1966, and immediately began teaching at Garrett County Schools in Oakland, MD. Within less than five years, she was promoted to serve as an elementary school principal within the district. Remaining in that position for four years, she returned to the classroom in 1974 with a Master of Education degree earned at Frostburg State College that same year, teaching for another 24 years before officially retiring in 1998 from E. Holms Local School in Berlin, OH. For 16 years, Ms. Yoder was also involved by serving as a consultant of bilingual education within the Berlin school district.

A certified elementary teacher and certified recreation leader in the state of Ohio, Ms. Yoder's experience is one to be cherished. She loved interacting with her students, and enjoyed the everyday reward she felt in knowing that she was positively impacting so many children in so many ways. During her years in education, she was also very active as the former vice president of the Holmes County chapter of the American Association of University Women, former secretary-treasurer of the Creative Arts Society, and former secretary of the Beta Iota chapter, former president, and former chapter vice president of Delta Kappa Gamma.

In her down time, Ms. Yoder enjoys studying birds and flowers, does handcrafts, and crochets doilies and hot pads. She is also a sustaining member of The Wilderness Center since 1974, supporting member of the German Culture Museum since 1983 and former three-year chairperson of the education committee. Additionally, Ms. Yoder has been a lifetime member of the Mennonite Information Center since 1985, and is a longtime member of the Killbuck Valley Museum and the Holmes County Historical Society.

Listed in many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who in the Midwest, Ms. Yoder was a Jennings Scholar, which was granted by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for 1983-1984. She was also a recipient of a Silver Poet Award by the World of Poetry in 1986.
