Jerry DeHay, PhD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    BROWNWOOD, TX, October 30, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jerry DeHay, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. DeHay celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. A longtime business educator, chief executive officer of JMD Consultant since 1994, and co-owner of Recollections Antiques and Collectables since 1996, Dr. DeHay is a very well-educated business professional who was born in the same town where he currently runs his two companies. Holding a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a PhD from North Texas State University, he began working immediately following his Bachelor's degree as a sales manager for Procter and Gamble. Within just four years, he entered academia as an instructor of marketing at his alma mater, Texas A&M, and later spent time teaching at Howard Payne University, Brownwood State School, East Texas State University, and Hardin Simmons University.

Previously, Dr. DeHay was a coordinator of food marketing at Tarrant County Junior College Northeast for several years. He also served as director of continuing education at Howard Payne University, as dean of the college of business administration at Tarleton State University, and director of their small business institute and their small business development center.

Since 2011, Dr. DeHay is a member of the dean's council for the college of business administration at Tarleton State University, where the mission is to create a dynamic learning environment for a diverse student population with a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experience, in order to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become productive contributors to the global business environment. He is also a member of the Small Business Development Center's advisory board. Dr. DeHay co-authored a book "Supervision" in 1984, has written and contributed numerous poems to anthologies, and was an author and presenter of the PBS television series "Business File" in 1985. He is a member of the board of directors of the Guy D. Newman Honors Academy at Howard Payne University.

Contributing his time and efforts in the community, Dr. DeHay continues to remain active as a member of the Brownwood City Council for the past decade. He is the former president and former board of directors for Brown County Historical Museum, former vice-chairman of the Brownwood Building Standards Commission, and former chairman of the regional advisory board for the Small Business Administration. Dr. DeHay is also active as a member and former board of directors member for the National Button Society, as well as treasurer, and vice president and president of the West Center Texas Council of Governments. He was an education member of the Sales and Marketing Executives of Fort Worth, and president of the Texas State Button Society, among others.

Named Outstanding American of the Bi-Centennial Era in 1976 and Outstanding Educator of America from 1973 to 1975, Dr. DeHay has been highlighted in close to 40 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in American Education. Married to Marilyn Ann Lethco, he has a total of five children.
