Carol Pierannunzi Celebrates Almost 40 Years of Professional Excellence in Her Field

Dr. Pierannunzi has received more than $5 million in grants over the course of her career



    ATLANTA, GA, November 01, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carol Pierannunzi has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With nearly 40 years of experience to her name, Dr. Pierannunzi works as a senior survey methodologist for the Division of Behavioral Surveillance at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she has been since 2010. The same year, she earned the role of emeritus professor of political science and international affairs for Kennesaw State University. Earlier in her career, she served as a research assistant for numerous scholars at the University of Georgia, and in many administrative and teaching positions for Georgia State University. An expert in the field, she has also lent her vast breadth of knowledge to Morehouse College, Kennesaw State College, and Emory University.

A graduate of the University of Georgia and Georgia State University, Dr. Pierannunzi holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Education in Educational Administration, and a PhD in Political Science. In order to remain active and engaged among her professional circles, she has affiliated herself with a number of organizations, including the Georgia Political Science Association, where she has served as vice president and president. Over the years, she has contributed her expertise to a plethora of journal articles in Urban Affairs Review, the Journal of Urban History, American Politics Quarterly, and the Southeastern Political Review.

Utilizing an excess of $5.2 million in grant money, Dr. Pierannunzi has pursued research in behavioral risk factors, politics in Georgia, school bonds, and the politics of educational reform. Beyond her status as a long-standing and esteemed figure in her field, she has been recognized many times for her professional accomplishments. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Dr. Pierannunzi earned the Robert T. Golembiewski Award through the University of Georgia, and the Best Dissertation in Urban Studies Award through the Journal of Urban Affairs, Urban Affair Quarterly, and the Urban Affairs Section of the American Political Science Association.
