NEW YORK, NY, November 02, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The American Health Council is proud to welcome Joelle Gagnon BSN, MSN to its Board of Nurses. With expertise in Nursing and Patient Care, Gagnon is excited to cultivate a clinical culture of increased clinician-patient dialogue and empathetic listening alongside her peers at American Health Council.

Gagnon is a second-generation nurse who became interested in a nursing profession when watching her mother work as a nurse throughout her childhood. Aspiring towards the same personal fulfillment her mother gained from her career, Gagnon sought comprehensive academic instruction. She graduated with a BSN from University of Rhode Island and an MSN from Felician College in 2015 respectively. Once Gagnon began her journey in nursing, she fell into oncology and absolutely loved it, discovering a passion for the diverse clinical experience offered by the specialization.

Gagnon presently occupies a Nurse Practitioner Role at Regional Cancer Care Associates in Hackensack, NJ where she has been employing her clinical abilities. Working side-by-side lymphoma/leukemia attendings, Gagnon interacts directly with patients, providing care in the acute setting. Most notably, Gagnon's compassion and patient-centered approach to healthcare are emphasized through her educational interactions with her patients and their families on conditions and treatment plans.

Her commitment to excellent care and leadership action is acknowledged throughout her academic and clinical careers as associations with the Oncology Nursing Society, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, and the International Nursing Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau (STTI). As a student, Gagnon illustrated a passion for natural leadership in exceptional clinical care as acknowledged by the MSN Scholar Award in 2015 through Felician College and her position as President of Student Nursing Society during her BSN education at the University of Rhode Island.

At the outset of a young career poised for future success, Gagnon envisions future growth within the research aspect of her work. In the next few years, Gagnon wants to work toward the generation of new clinical, scientific, and structural knowledge in nurse oncology. Akin to the altruistic character she reveals as a clinician, Gagnon donates her time and resources to the charitable causes of Doctors Without Borders and Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Gagnon enjoys spending her spare time with her family and loved ones.
