Marilyn E. Vito Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Vito with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Vito celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Shortly after completing a Bachelor of Science in Business Studies and Accounting at Stockton University, Ms. Vito began her career in the field of accounting and finance as vice president/controller for Security Savings Bank in Vineland, NJ. While there, she accepted a position as a part-time adjunct instructor of accounting at Stockton, and began her graduate studies as well. Early in her professional career, Ms. Vito acquired licensure as a certified public accountant (CPA) in New Jersey, and earned the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. She later added licensure as a Pennsylvania State CPA to her credentials.

She was recruited to her second financial management role as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Marine National Bank, subsidiary of Chemical Bank New Jersey just five years after receiving her bachelor's degree. That same year, she completed a Master of Business Administration at Monmouth University. Four years later, Ms. Vito moved onto Meridian Mortgage Corporation as executive vice president and chief financial officer, and completed a Certificate of Graduate Management from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware. After 13 years in accounting and financial management, Ms. Vito was ready to move into higher education full-time. Over her subsequent 24 years as assistant and then associate professor of Business Studies, she earned a solid reputation in the well-recognized public university's School of Business.

During those years she also took on multiple leadership roles at the university, including
- seven years as the Business Program Coordinator,
- two years as president of the faculty assembly where she fostered development of a faculty senate,
- eight years on the 2020 Strategic Planning Steering Committee, and
- multiple years on Board of Trustees committees for Financial Planning, Investments, and Academic Planning and Procedures.

Throughout her career, she has been a prolific presenter of continuing professional education (CPE) lectures for professional accountants and financial managers, and has authored a number of papers and journal articles in her field. Recent publications include "Implications of the 2012 JOBS Act for Investors." Journal of Taxation of Investments--Civic Research Institute, 2017, "Understanding the Uses and Abuses of the Statement of Cash Flows: an Examination of Financial Restatements post-SOX and Implications of the JOBS Act on Investor Protections," Academy of Business Journal, 2013, and "Collaborative, Experiential and Technology Approaches for 21st Century Learners," American Journal of Educational Studies, 2013.

Ms. Vito served The Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance (formerly the American Society of Women Accountants) as National President in 1992-93 after 5 years on the National Board of Directors in various capacities. She was campus liaison for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for more than ten years, and served on the board of directors for the local chapter of the New Jersey CPA Society. Other community service included multiple roles of leadership for the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ), Atlantic County Women's Center, and the Literacy Volunteers of America Atlantic County Chapter.

The recipient of two substantial grants from the National Science Foundation for the benefit of Stockton University, Ms. Vito served as a team leader on initiatives leading to innovative university wide curricular development. She served as a delegation leader for a People-to-People women accounting liaison to Eastern Europe, following the disaggregation of the USSR. Ms. Vito received a certificate for participation in the Women Thinking Globally, Acting Locally: on the Road to Beijing & the 21st Century, U. S. Official Preparatory Meeting for the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women of 1995. As a corporate senior manager, she received a Certificate of Appreciation from Rutgers University Guest Professor's Program. More recently, Ms. Vito was recognized by Stockton University in 2016 as a Distinguished Alumni for Professional Achievement.

Ms. Vito has been included numerous times in biographical publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
