Arlene Mazak, Ph.D. Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    NORWALK, CA, November 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles is proud to present Arlene Mazak with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Mazak celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With 30 years of experience in her related professions, Dr. Mazak served as full-time graduate school core faculty, administrator, curriculum co-developer, and student advisor at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, and then at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, CA. Both institutions are educational innovators, creating new fields of inquiry in consciousness studies as well as promoting experiential learning and research. She specialized in teaching world religions, East-West psychology, transpersonal psychology, and cultural psychologies. After the year 2000, she launched Innercall: Personal and Transpersonal Development, her private practice in Southern California as a licensed marriage and family therapist, life and career coach, hypnotherapist, and interfaith spiritual director.

Dr. Mazak received a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in South Asian Languages and Civilizations in 1994 at the University of Chicago. She was a Fulbright-Hays Research Abroad scholar in India, pursuing a year of dissertation research. She also received a Master's degree in Counseling at the University of San Francisco, and a graduate certificate in organizational development and transformation at the California Institute of Integral Studies. In addition, she studied hypnotherapy at the Institute of Thought in San Diego and qualified for a certificate in Past Life Regression Therapy from the International Association for Regression Research and Therapies. She studied the art of spiritual direction at the Center for Spiritual Development in Orange, CA. She also pursued certificate coursework in gerontology at Coastline Community College, and later served as gerontology adjunct faculty and departmental curriculum advisor.

More recently, Dr. Mazak has opened two more businesses after receiving further education. For four years, she took advanced workshops in intercultural communication, transnational management assessments and simulations at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication in Portland, Oregon. She also studied online for certification and ordination as an interfaith / interspiritual minister at One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in New York City. She then earned a certificate in ethno-religious mediation from the International Center for Ethno-Religious Mediation.

As owner at Mazak Global Management, she has expertise in providing global management training and consulting, leadership coaching, and organization development. Specific examples of the services she provides include coaching for a global mindset, diversity training, building intercultural teams, organizational systems analysis and transformation, and acting as a consultant in conscious capitalism or conscious business practices. As an ordained interfaith / interspiritual minister, she has an outreach ministry in education for religious literacy and comparative worldviews, social justice, ecological justice, ethno-religious mediation, and intergroup peacebuilding. She is also available for corporate planning retreats.

Dr. Mazak has been a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, The Academy of Management, Spiritual Directors International, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, the Society for the Anthropology of Consciousness, United Religions Initiative, the South Coast Interfaith Council, the Parliament of World Religions, International Mediators Community of Practice, and Integral Management, a professional group in the Sri Aurobindo Society. She is also affiliated with Unity Church of Tustin, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach, the Vajrayana Foundation, and the Fellowship of Reconciliation.

Dr. Mazak attributes her success to hard work and a passion for learning from people of diverse cultures. She has lived in India, Nepal, France and Germany. And has traveled extensively in Mexico and many countries in Europe and Asia. Her own experiences in transformational learning, facilitating group discussions and receiving psychotherapy and interspiritual direction drove her to pursue careers in her interdisciplinary fields. The highlight of her academic career was her times of deep cultural immersion, living in South Asia where she did research on Hinduism in India and on Buddhism in Nepal. These experiences were personally transformational for her, and they furthered her interest in anthropology, worldviews, cultural psychologies and intercultural communication. She has served her community by providing outreach services for the Central Orange County Interfaith Council, and as an active member of the social justice activities sponsored by the Interfaith Community Organization which meets at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach, California.

Dr. Mazak is featured in Marquis Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, and numerous editions of Who's Who in America. She received a four year full tuition scholarship at Sarah Lawrence College. At the University of Chicago, her four years of graduate education were funded by Title IV and Title VI Fellowships from the U.S. Dept. of Education. As a graduate school professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies, she was awarded the 1993 Dean's Prize for Faculty Research. She received a faculty grant in 2002 for the development of an online course in gerontology at Coastline Community College by the California Virtual Campus She has also received a half scholarship at One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, as well as partial scholarships from the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication.
